The Dos and Don’ts of using AI for Organic Social Media Management

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is everywhere. In fact, it’s found in a host of places you may not even realize, including marketing. For business owners, it’s a fantastic tool that can save you time and boost your marketing efforts, especially with organic social media management.

At Here Molly Girl, we understand the challenges business owners face in managing their organic social media presence, and encourage you to investigate incorporating AI into your toolkit. But while we’ll explore the benefits of AI for your social media strategy, there are definitely some pitfalls too.

Here are the dos and don’ts of using AI for your social strategy

DO use AI for content ideas

Giving ChatGPT a prompt like, “Come up with 20 social media post topic ideas for a retail business specializing in gourmet jellies,” is a great way to get new ideas for your business. You can even add in, “Incorporate ideas for photos, videos, and influencer marketing.”

DON’T just copy and paste captions

While you can use AI to write the base of your social captions, you HAVE to edit those captions to make them your own. Why? Number one, they need to have the voice and personality of your business, and number two, those captions were generated from aggregated data online. Go ahead and make them your own!

DO use AI to automatically schedule your content

AI-powered tools can analyze your audience’s behavior and determine the best times to post your content, ensuring maximum visibility and engagement. Plus, it’s a great time saver!

DON’T use AI images without checking and editing them

It’s tempting to input an image request from AI and then post it at will, but make sure you’re checking and editing the image before posting. Many images can have weird elements you’ll need to adjust.

DO use AI chatbots for customer interaction

Implementing chatbots within your social platforms can provide instant responses to customer inquiries, enhancing customer satisfaction and freeing up your team’s time.

DON’T ignore your messages, though!

But even if you do implement AI chatbots on your social platforms, you still need to check your messages every couple of days to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

Incorporating AI into your social media management strategy can be a game-changer for businesses looking to scale their online presence. By leveraging the power of automation, you can streamline your efforts and achieve meaningful results.
